Cumhurbaşkanı Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Çalışma ve Sosyal Güvenlik Bakanı Vedat Bilgin announced that there will be an increase in the minimum wage in July.
Ahmet Kurtuluş, a sworn-in certified public accountant, disclosed his estimate to Milliyet. Kurtuluş stated that "we have mentioned that two criteria will determine it in our estimations. The first and foremost is the inflation rates that will be announced at the end of June, and the second is the situation that the exchange rates will be in by the end of June.
These two situations will be the most critical factors in determining the minimum wage in early July. Although it is not very possible to predict it for now, we think that if the exchange rate remains around 22 TL and the inflation rate stays at the previously announced rate, a new minimum wage will be determined in the range of ₺10,500 to ₺11,000. However, if the 22 TL threshold in the exchange rate is broken, the figures of ₺12,000 and ₺12,500 will also be mentioned.(İLKHA)
